The MIND FOREST movie you are reading about on this Web site was produced as a low-budget, demo film. Our greater goal was to use this demo (or "pilot" film as we sometimes call it) as a proposal to film studio execs and investors to remake a bigger budgeted, full length feature film version of MIND FOREST.
Our thinking was, hey, let's do something more than just pitch an idea or script around to major film studios about three young women, who were best friends that grew up together and had all the flavors of THE CRAFT and PRACTICAL MAGIC thrown in. These days, everyone does that in Hollywood - pitch ideas. Let's go out and actually demonstrate the script, make a low budget indie feature film version of MIND FOREST capturing some of the script's key elements - share the magic. Ultimately, generate more interest in a remake with more visual effects, faster paced scenes, greater suspense... Make a small indie film so we could later remake a major motion picture.
And so, in that spirit, we signed a contract with the Screen Actors Guild, cast SAG actors, and shot the MIND FOREST demo film with a small film crew over a two month period in one summer. The final result was a complete indie film, with all the key story elements in place, a beginning, a middle and a surprising end...
Along the way, something amazing happened. MIND FOREST garnered a cult following, launched Comic-Con's film festival, was screened at the Temecula International Film Festival, packing theaters with long lines of full-house, ticket buying audiences, and finally ending up at the Plymouth International Film Festival 3000 miles away. To this day, there is a continuing public demand to buy copies of the MIND FOREST DVD.
Currently, we are still in talks and shopping the idea of remaking a full feature version of MIND FOREST.
Stay tuned...
